Buffalo Bisons vs Charlotte Knights (Loss 8-3)

The Herds stellar pitching run has finally been broken.  After 7 outstanding performances the Bisons Todd Redmond hit a wall against the Knights.  Redmond gave up 5 runs in the first inning.  He did figure things out and pitched scoreless innings in the 2nd and 3rd but at the point the damage had already been done.  On the other side former Blue Jays Kyle Drabek was in great form.  He was his typical wild self as shown by walking 4 Bison hitters but he was able to minimize the damage well and only allowed 2 runs over 5.2 innings.  The Bison bullpen did not fair much better as they allowed 3 more runs on 2 homers through the rest of the game.  Jason Coats and Rob Brantly touched up the bullpen for 3 runs on the home runs.

Offensively the Bisons just could not cash in their base runners.  They batted a combines 2-13 with runners in scoring position.  There were plenty of base runners (6 walked batters, 7 hits) but without the timely hitting the offense was stuck in neutral.  Dalton Pompey had an excellent night as he collected 2 stolen bases, 2 hits, and a run scored.  This could have been a very different game if the offense could have moved some of the base runners around.

Line of the game

Dalton Pompey 2-3 with 2 walks, 2 stolen bases, and a run scored
