Buffalo Bisons vs Syracuse Chiefs (Loss 0-1)
Jeff Francis pitched incredible in the loss Sunday. He pitched 8 innings and did not allow a run and stuck out 7. I have no idea what he changed in his pregame prep but he needs to make sure he does that again. Francis deserved a win out of the amazing performance but Andrew Albers allowed 2 hits in the bottom of the 10th and lead to the only run of the ball game.
The offense was held at zero the whole 10 innings as the pitchers duel rolled on. A great start for Taylor Jordan of the Chiefs kept the Herd in check. Devon Travis continued his rehab and collected 2 hits and a walk. The Herd was only able to collect 5 hits and 4 walks. 9 base runners was not enough to get it done with the way Chiefs pitchers were throwing.
Line of the night
Jeff Francis 8 IP, 7 K’s, 3 hits, 0 ER, 1 BB

Lansing Lugnuts vs Great Lake Loons (Win 8-0)
Great bats and pitching clinch the first place position for the Lugnuts. They are the eastern division champs for the first half of the season. Conner Greene had a solid performance after putting in some hard work. Greene pitched 5 innings and allowed 5 hits and 2 walks. He scattered those base runners around and struck out 6 batters also. He got the Lugnuts off to a great start as he did not allow a run regardless of the amount of base runners. The shut out would continue as Chase Mallard, Tim Mayza, Carlos Ramirez, and Jose Fernandez would only allow 2 more hits over the remainder of the game. It was an amazing combined effort in the shut out.
The Lugnut bats were wide awake to start this game as they collected 5 runs in the first inning. A solid team attack had the Lugnuts running away with this game. 6 of the 9 batters collected at least 1 RBI through out the game. Ryan McBroom collected 2 RBI’s in his 2-3 game. The teams 2-5 hitters collected 2 hits each and also scored at least once. The Lugnuts attack is well balanced and they look to take this offense and keep rolling into the 2nd half of the season.
Line of the night
Jason Leblebijian 2-4 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI
Ryan McBroom 2-3 with 2 RBI
