Dwight Smith Jr. had a good day at the plate after spinning his tires in June (.129 BA). Smith was batting in the 7th spot and went 2-for-3, 4R, 2 doubles (13), and 2 BB.

To round out the line-up the 8th and 9th hitter, Pierce Rankin and Shane Opitz, also collected 2 hits a piece. Rankin hit his 3rd home run and drove in 3 runs.
