Buffalo Bisons (28-29/3rd place/3.5GB)

Losing 2-1

The game was suspended in the 5th due to fog and is rescheduled for today.

Daniel Norris was on the bump and had allowed 2 runs on 5 hits to this point. I watched a couple innings and Norris struggled with his command, leaving balls up in the zone. He throw 47 strikes and 34 balls, 3 walks and 3 strike outs.

Sean Ochinko was 2-for-2 with a double and drove in the Bisons only run. In 14 June AB’s he’s driven in 3 runs and hitting .500 with a 1.143 OPS. Daric Barton was also 2-for-2.

Up Next: Scott Copeland vs Scranton/WB Jaron Long

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (26-30/5th place/8GB)

Scheduled day of rest.

Up Next: TBD vs Akron’s Ryan Merritt

Dunedin Blue Jays (25-/32/6th place/8.0GB)

Won 8-3

Jairo Labourt (W 2-3, 3.30 ERA) allowed one run on 7 hits. He walked 2 and struck out 6. The win broke a personal streak of 9 starts without a win. His last win can on game one of the season. It’s not as though he was pitching poorly, he just wasn’t pitching well enough to win. Despite his high walk rate (5.6 BB/9) Jairo owns a respectable 1.39 WHIP and 3.54 FIP.

Matthew Smoral pitched an inning of relief and allowed 2 runs, 2 walks, and struck out one.

Chad Girodo struck out 4 in an inning and a third to lower his ERA to 1.32. He has stranded 89.4% of runners and owns K/BB ratio of 4.00.

Up Next: Luis Santos vs Charlotte’s Matt Moore….ya that Matt Moore.

Lansing Lugnuts (34-24/1st place)

Won 12-4

Shane Dawson (W 8-3 3.19ERA) allowed 3 runs on 5 hits. He walked 3 and struck out 6.

D.J. Davis was the man of hour, to sweet to be sour with a career 8 RBI. He was 4-for-5 with a double (9), and a grand slam in the 5th inning. He is hitting .342 over his last 10 games and is now hitting .294 with a .791 OPS. He now has 9 doubles in 53 GB compared to 13 in 121 games at the same level.

SS Richard Urena collected 2 hits with a single and his 2 triple. Ryan McBroom drove in 2 RBI (34), scored 3 runs and collected his 17th double. Jason Leblebijian hit a home run (2) and drove in 2 RBI (4).

Let’s hope that Davis has more games like this one.
