Buffalo Bisons @ Louisville Bats (Loss 4-8)

A rough start for Andrew Albers got the team off to a bad start that the offense would not be able to overcome.  Albers pitched 3 innings and allowed 6 earned runs.  Out of the 5 hits Albers allowed 2 of them were for doubles.  After allowing those hits with a couple walks the Bats had brought home the 6 base runners.  Jeff Francis came into the game in the 4th and also allowed 5 hits and allowed another 2 earned runs to push the score to 0-8.  Rob Rasmussen and Bobby Korecky came in and finally stopped the bleeding but it was a little to late.

The offense had there work cut out for them Sunday and they just weren’t able to capitalize on opportunities.  They collected 11 hits where the Bats had 10 hits total.  The difference was timely hitting.  The Bisons only managed to go 2-6 with runners in scoring position and scattered there hits around rather then having huge innings all at once.  It started coming together in the 7th as the scored 2 runs that inning but they were unable to sustain the late rally to complete the comeback.  Jonathan Diaz and Ramon Santiago where the only Bisons to not record a hit but both did reach base.  Matt Hague and Daric Barton recorded solo home runs in the 7th inning.  Andy Burns and Brad Glenn recorded the other 2 RBI’s.

Line of the night

Daric Barton 2-4 with a home run, 1 run scored, an RBI, and a walk
