New Hampshire Fisher Cats (2-0)

New Britain Rock Cats (0-2)

What a game. These two teams traded blows, lead changes and timely hitting. It came down to a 10th innings bases loaded walk by Matt Newman….would that be considered a walk off win? Sorry I couldn’t help it.

At the Plate the Fisher Cats stranded 10 and was 4-for-9 with RISP. K.C. Hobson had another solid game with his 2nd home run in the first two games, while driving in two and adding a double. CF Melky Mesa also had 2-hit day. As a team they work 8 walks, but also struck out 8 times. Jon Berti stole his first of many and hit his first double.

On the mound Taylor Cole had a decent start going 5 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs. Cole also throw 53 of his 79 pitches for strikes, while walking one and collecting 4K. Cole keep the ball on the ground and in the yard with 6-3 GO-AO. Matt West and Greg Burke were perfect between the 6th and 8th before giving way to Cory Burns. Cory pitched 2 innings and was credited with a blown save and the win.

Prospect watch: this one has to go to Colorado Rockies #13 ranked prospect, SS Trevor Story who had a perfect day. Trevor collected 4 hits, a double, a RBI, a walk, and is hitting .625.

Next game: NH have yet to announce their starters for today’s double-header, but New Britain wil send Yohan Flande to the mound in game 1 and will follow with Shane Carle.
