New Address: Nay, Pierre, Tellez, Glenn, and Urena
Overshadowed by all the excitement surrounding the promotion of one of the most exciting positional prospects in the system, Dalton Pompey, were the promotions of 3B Mitch Nay, INF Gustavo Pierre, RHP Grayson Huffman, SS Richard Urena, and 1B Rowdy Tellez. To make room for Dalton Pompey, Brad Glenn was shipped back down to New Hampshire. I am almost positive these moves were done to shut me up….not really, I know I am not that important.
The biggest mover was 1B Rowdy Tellez, who went from Bluefield to Lansing. Let’s hope he can handle that type of jump. I would have thought that Vancouver would have been a more likely destination.
RHP Grayson Huffman has been very good in limited action. Huffman is heading to Bluefield….see how he faired in his first appearance in the stats box below.
3B Mitch Nay has received a promotion to Dunedin. I was hoping to see more home runs from the 20 year old this season, but he has been a doubles hitting machine. The home runs will come as he matures.
INF Gustavo Pierre has always frustrated me with the number of errors he commits, but he does have a nice bat. Let’s hope that his errors go down with his recent promotion to New Hampshire.
SS Richard Urena is another Latin middle infielder that Alex has coming through the system that’s been making some noise and turning some heads. This guys has the skills to actually stay at SS and is a guy that does everything well, but nothing great. I am excited to see how he does with the C’s.
Going the other was Brad Glenn. I was surprised by this but hey if means that Pompey gets Triple-A experience….then I am all for it. Here are Glenn’s stats in Triple-A:
Good luck to all of our rising prospects/stars.
