Toronto Blue Jays Minor League Recap: Liam Hendriks continues to deal
Two extra inning games, lots of stolen bases, Liam Hendriks continues to deal with his 8th win, Taylor Cole losses despite striking out 9, and Michael De La Cruz comes through with a walk off single to make winners out of the C’s
Buffalo Bisons (53-53)
Bisons win 5-2 and are back to .500. The Bisons got 4 runs in the 1st off a Adron Chambers RBI double, Kevin Pillar RBI groundout, a Ryan Schimpf RBI double, and a Brett Wallace RBI single. Darin Mastroianni did a great job of setting the table in the leadoff spot with two singles, two stolen bases, and 2 runs. Brett Wallace drove in his first RBI since being reaquired.
Liam Hendriks picked up his 8th win, as he put on a clinic with his control. Hendriks didn’t walk a batter, struck out 8 over 7.0IP, and throw 78 of his 105 pitches for strikes. Steve Delabar pitched the final frame and gave up a home run and struck out 2.

The Lugnuts came out on the wrong end of a 14 inning marathon losing 3-2. The Lugnuts had 3 stolen bases on the game. David Harris provides a spark at the top of the order with 2 singles and two stolen bases. Matt Dean hit his 5 triple as he continues to showcase his extra base power….can’t wait to see him grow into his power.
Dawel Lugo hasn’t got a lot of press, but this kid has quietly had a very good year. He hit .224 in April, but hasn’t hit under .270 the rest of the way. He is hitting .317/.364/.512 with 2 HR and 8 RBI since July 14th.

The C’s were able to charge back with 2 of their own in the bottom inning thanks to a Max Pentecost single, a Seth Connor sacrifice bunt, a Christopher Carlson double to score Mad Max, and a walk off single to centre field off the bat of Michael De La Cruz.
Miguel lowered his ERA to 2.18 with six shutout inning and struck 8 along the way.
