Buffalo Bisons (48-46)

Bisons tried to mount a 9th inning comeback with a run in bottom of the inning but that was all they could manage as they loss 3-2.

Aaron Sanchez threw 55 of his 83 pitches for strikes and struck out 6 while walking 2 and allowing 3 run over 6.0IP. Sanchez had a better start than his previous start where he allowed 2 home runs on 7 hits. Kyle Drabek pitched a scoreless 8th with 2 strike outs….and no walks. Anthony Gose had a 3-hit game, with a stolen base and was caught stealing.

The Fisher Cats got shut down 4-0, as they were limited to 5 hits and zero walks. Matt Boyd making his second Double-A start since being recalled pitched 5.0IP and allowed 4-runs while not allowing any walks and striking out 4. Unfortunately, Boyd did give up a home run.

Andy Burns and Mike McDade each hit doubles. Burns continues to be hot in July and is hitting .320/.393/.720 with 2HR and 4-RBI.

The D-Jays won 7-4 to move back to .500 in the 2nd season. The D-Jays scored 5 in the 4th, 2 in the 8th and were able to stop a late inning 3-run rally in the 8th.

Dwight Smith Jr. hit his 6th HR, his 6th triple, and collected 3-RBI. Gustavo Pierre and Nick Baligod also had 2-hit games. Taylor Cole struck out 7 and allowed one run on 3 hits over 5 innings for his 6th and Arik Sikula converted his 20th save.

The Lugnuts scored a run in every inning between the 4th and the 7th, but were unable to overcome a 3-run 5th, as they were dropped 5-4.

The offence managed 10 hits, with Dickie Joe Thon, Matt Dean and Mitch Nay collecting 2-hits apiece. Matt Dean and David Harris hit home runs for the Lugnuts. Dean has shown more power this month as he hit his 4th HR of July and also collected a double in the game.
