Blue Jays Minor League Report: Anthony Alford exits game with injury

Triple-A: Buffalo Bisons (43-40)

A.J. Jimenez doubled home Dan Johnson in the top of the tenth as Buffalo won 5-4 over Syracuse. Jimenez, Erik Kratz and Ryan Goins all had two hits apiece while Johnson walked three times. Kevin Pillar added a double, as did Jonathan Diaz, who also plated 3 RBIs.

Deck McGuire started and allowed three earned runs off seven hits and two walks. Mike Azgurski earned the win and struck out three in one and two-thirds.

Andy Burns and Kevin Nolan both had two hits with a home run each and Jack Murphy also went deep as New Hampshire defeated Reading 6-2. Pierre Rankin and Jorges Flores added to hits of their own while Dalton Pompey tripled on a line drive to center field. John Anderson started and gave up two four hits and two earned runs with a K.

Dwight Smith Jr. doubled, walked and drove in a run as the D-Jays won a pitching duel over Clearwater 1-0. Kendall Graveman, facing off against Phillies 2014 top draft pick Aaron Nola, scattered five hits over six innings and struck out four. The bullpen of Justin Jackson, Efrain Nieves and Arik Sikula was solid behind him as they were able to keep Clearwater off the board.

Class A: Lansing Lugnuts (38-43)

Mitch Nay, Matt Dean, Dawel Lugo and Anthony Alford all had base hits as Lansing was pummeled 12-4 by West Michigan. Alford, Nay and Dickie Joe Thon delivered with RBIs but a poor outing from Chase De Jong put the Lugs in an early hole. De Jong last only one and two-thirds and allowed six earned runs off seven hits with all of the damage coming in the second inning.

According to Jesse Golberg-Strassler, who is Voice of the Lansing Lugnuts, Alford left the game in the seventh inning after diving for an attempted catch in the outfield.

Tim Locastro, Franklin Barreto and Jonathan Davis all collected stolen bases as Vancouver ran their way to a 8-4 victory over Salem-Keizer. Chris Carlson was perfect at the plate with a base hit and three walks while Roemon Fields delivered two hits and an RBI. Zak Wasilewski started and despite giving up seven hits in four and two-thirds did a good job preventing runs with only two earned. Yeyfry Del Rosario pitched two and one thirds innings of scoreless relief with three strikeouts to earn the win.

Josh Almonte and Gabriel Cenas both had three hit games as Bluefield won 13-9 over Princeton. Cenas also homered and plated four runs while Trent Miller had two hits and two RBIs of his own. Dan Jansen had two hits with a double while Rolando Segovia reached base three times with two hits and a walk. Joey Aquino was solid in the start but his hard work was undone by Alberto Guzman who blew up to allow seven earned runs in one and two-thirds of relief. However Bluefield fought back to score six runs over their last two innings to take back the victory.

Connor Greene started and struck out seven in three and two-thirds buts also gave up five earned runs.
