Player Movement on the Toronto Blue Jays Farm: June 1st to June 15th

The Toronto Blue Jays have been using their Triple-A team a lot this year, which has had a trickle down effect on the rest of the system. There have been a number of guys getting opportunities to prove their worth at higher levels. There’s been guys that have preformed well enough to get a promotion, but haven’t been successful in their first go ’round.

I am all for moving guys up a level just to see them fail. Failure is good, it’s how you learn. I am very surprised and confused to Dalton Pompey still in Dunedin. I was 100% certain that Pompey would be plying his trade with the Fisher Cats before Derrick Chung, but I was wrong….again.

Well lets get to it.

June 1st

RP Bobby Korecky was called up to Toronto. NH activated LHP John Anderson from the DL. 1B Matt Dean was activated from the DL and Seth Conner was added to the DL by the Lugnuts.

June 2nd

Toronto returned RHP Liam Hendriks to Buffalo.RP John Stilson, RP Neil Wagner, and OF Brad Glenn were placed on the DL by Bisons. Brett Carroll was activated from the DL by the Bisons and LHP Richard Bleier was assigned to NH and RHP Radhames Liz went the other way in the transaction.

June 3rd

Toronto called up RHP Chad Jenkins..again.

June 5th

The Vancouver Canadians released C Matt Hitt. How you can release a guy with the last name Hitt is beyond me….that name can be soooo much fun. For more about Matt Hitt read this.

June 6th

LHP Sean Nolin traded with RHP Ricky Romero on the Bisons DL. LHP Richard Bleier was sent back to NH. For more on Ricky Romero’s injury…click here.

June 7th

Bisons OF Brad Glenn returns from the DL and Brett Carroll heads back to the DL. The Bisons return RHP Shawn Hill to NH.

June 8th

The Bisons got some veteran help for the bullpen in RHP Luis Ayala (Signing). The Lugnuts welcome LHP Shane Dawson back from the temporarily inactive list and also welcome aspiring knuckleballer RHP Frank Viola from the C’s. RHP Alberto Tirado struggled mightily in Lansing and it was a for gone conclusion that he would be sent to Vancouver once their season started…..and that is what happened. Check out the 19 year old, Tirado,  stats with the Lugnuts in 7 starts and 6 relief appearances.

June 10th

Buffalo Bisons activated RHP John Stilson from the DL and send Radhames Liz back to the Fisher Cats. RHP Sergio Santos started his rehab assignment with the Fisher Cats and C Pierce Rankin was placed on the DL. The C’s filled their roster this day so if your interested in seeing who was added jump on over to their website and take a peek at the roster….C’s Roster

June 11th

Very sad day for OF Kevin Pillar, but a very happy day for Bison fans. Pillar was returned to the Bisons from Toronto and Toronto recalled RHP Bobby Korecky. The Bisons released LHP Ryan Rowland-Smith. RHP Shawn Hill was trade to the Charlotte Knights by the Fisher Cats. The D-Jays released the Jays 2nd round selection (69th overall) of the 2010 Kellen Sweeney. I had such high hopes for him, but I have high hopes for all of them. Starlyn Suriel was assigned to the C’s from the DSL Blue Jays

June 12th

Toronto sent Colby Rasmus to Buffalo for rehab and returned RP Bobby Korecky. Toronto called up Darin Mastroianni. The Fisher Cats sent top prospect RHP Aaron Sanchez and veteran OF Melky Mesa to Buffalo. OF Kenny Wilson and RP Gregory Infante were demoted to NH from the Bisons. OF Seth Conner was sent down to the C’s from Lansing after appearing in 6 games with the Lugnuts.

June 13th

Toronto traded Will Dupont and Alejandro Solarte (Ya I don’t know who they are either ) to Houston for OF Adron Chambers.

June 14th

Toronto returned Darin Mastroianni to Buffalo. OF Melky Mesa was placed on the Bisons DL….most likely to make room for OF Adron Chambers and OF Darin Mastroianni. The Fisher Cats activate 1b Yusuf Carter from the DL.

June 15th

Buffalo palces C Mike Nickeas on the DL. C Santiago Nessy gets a promotion from Lansing to the D-Jays. Vancouver C’s assigned Daniel Klein to Lansing.
