He’s backkk!
According to Mike Wilner of Sportsnet The FAN 590, the Toronto Blue Jays will recall infielder Munenori Kawasaki for tomorrow’s series opener against the New York Yankees.
Kawasaki, 33, started the season off slowly but has been swinging a hot bat lately and is batting .357/.400/.464 for the Bisons in June. He can play all over the diamond and could be used as a left-handed platoon partner for Steve Tolleson now that Juan Francisco‘s bat has started to cool off.
As Wilner mentioned, both 1B/DH Adam Lind and LHP Brett Cecil are potential candidates to hit the DL. Lind is dealing with a deep bone bruise on the top of his left foot while Cecil suffered a groin strain on Friday night.
Colby Rasmus has also been rehabbing in Buffalo and could return soon but it’s not yet known exactly when he will return to the Blue Jays lineup.
