Blue Jays get a potential steal with Sean Reid-Foley in round two

Okay I just said that I was done for the night but the Toronto Blue Jays just made what could be an absolute steal of a pick in round two and it’s one that deserves a quick update.

With the 49th overall pick the Blue Jays selected RHP Sean Reid-Foley, who was the best player left on the board according to Baseball America’s Top 500. BA had the young right-hander ranked 19th overall.

Foley throws his fastball in the low-to-mid 90’s and has two potential plus breaking pitches, his slider and curveball according to DodgersDigets.com. He doesn’t have the most electric stuff but is known for good pitchability and solid command.

It’s a legitimate question why Reid-Foley dropped to where he did in the draft as there could be signability concerns that come with the prepster. However based on the money the Jays will likely save on Jeff Hoffman, it’s possible they will have enough money to have a legitimate shot of signing all three players.

This day couldn’t have ended any better for fans of the Toronto Blue Jays. GM Alex Anthopoulos has done a fantastic job with his three picks so far and now it comes down to one thing – sign these guys!
