A couple of roster moves to get caught up on from this weekend before the Blue Jays go for the sweep of the Oakland A’s this afternoon.

According to the Toronto Blue Jays official transactions page, RHP Esmil Rogers cleared waivers and has been sent outright to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons. Rogers, 28, was designated for assignment on Friday after pitching poorly in most of his appearances this season. Rogers was better for the Blue Jays in 2013 but for the most part has struggled with consistency since joining the club. Hopefully he will be able to turn things around a bit in Buffalo.

The Blue Jays have also signed RHP Mickey Storey to a minor league contract. Storey started the season on the Jays’ 40-man roster but was released to make room for Chris Getz at the end of April, who has since retired. I thought at the time there was a chance Storey would return on a minor league deal and sure enough he’s back with the Bisons. He’s currently listed on the 7-day disabled list.

The Blue Jays made another minor move on Friday, adding RHP Brad Allen. Allen, 25, started for Low-A Lansing yesterday and pitched five strong innings. He threw a no-hitter last season for the Arizona Diamondbacks Midwest League affiliate and should provide some stability for the Lugnuts’ rotation.
