The Toronto Blue Jays have announced that Brandon Morrow will (once again) head to the DL. This might not come as a surprise to many fans. In fact, it may have actually been expected…at some point this season.

Apparently, it is possible to strain your right index finger. But, it may be more serious than that according to MLB.com Gregor Chisholm:

Obviously, this is not good news for fans of the Blue Jays. We keep hearing that Morrow has the best potential stuff of any Jays pitcher, yet have not been able to see more than glimpses into this. The ‘Fabrege pitcher’ (as I like to call him- expensive, high end arm, easily breakable) has been back and forth on the disabled list over his tenure with the Blue Jays. In a corresponding move, the Blue Jays have recalled Chad Jenkins from AAA Buffalo Bisons. This season, in Buffalo, Jenkins has served different roles. He’s started started one game, but finished 5 collecting 2 saves. According to BaseballReference.com, in 15.2 innings, he’s managed a 2.30 ERA. More than likely, J.A. Happ will take Morrow’s spot in the rotation for the duration of the DL stint. See tweet from MLB.com’s Gregor Chisholm:
