It’s another two-for-one Arizona Fall League update today. The Toronto Blue Jays have sent seven players to take part in the event and are members of the Salt River Rafters roster.
Tuesday, October 15th
Center fielder Kenny Wilson has been one of the AFL’s top performers so far but showed he was still human on Tuesday night, going 1 for 5 and scored a run but also had three strikeouts. He also picked up his fifth steal in five games, this time taking third and has been a force on the base paths. He’s batting .478/.538/.522, leading the AFL with 11 hits and has played great defense in center. Here’s a tweet I missed about a spectacular play that he made during week one.
#BlueJays Kenny Wilson just made an outstanding play coming in on a ball and stretching out. Read the ball well and hustled. Good job!

Andy Burns played third base for the Rafters and was 1 for 4 but struggled defensively. He made a throwing error in the third inning and a fielding error in the fourth, both of which later led to runs. He also was caught trying to steal second base. Burns is batting .308/.357/.308 and the errors were his first in four games.

No Toronto Blue Jays prospects pitched for Salt River on Tuesday.

Unfortunately no Toronto Blue Jays batters were in the starting lineup for the Rafters.
After seven innings, I’m calling it a night. No Toronto Blue Jays pitchers have pitched yet but if either Marcus Stroman or John Stilson appear I will make sure to update accordingly but I probably wouldn’t count on it being in a timely fashion.
Update:
Stroman did in fact pitch and had a clean inning including a strikeout. Being late has it’s advantages however – here’s a video of his full inning from Jason Cole at Baseball Prospectus.
