It’s Game Thread time! As the city of Toronto tries to shake off its grief drinking induced collective hangover in the wake of the Toronto Maple Leafs stunning Game 7 collapse against the Boston Bruins, the defending World Series Champion San Francisco Giants come into town to take on the suddenly lukewarm Toronto Blue Jays (we won a series!). Dr. Robert Allan Dickey (seriously, he’s a doctor now!) takes the mound tonight for the Blue Jays, and with me in attendance that probably means terrible things, as the knuckleballer has been hit and hit hard on the two other occasions he has graced the mound while I was in the concrete confines of the SkyDome.
Be sure the check out the always enjoyable Jeff Morten’s Series Preview before the action starts, but once that first pitch is thrown it’s time to Game Thread, so join me in the comments and we can game thread to our hearts desire. I’ll be observing, analyzing, and opinionating away all while doing a terrible job at trying to be funny. Got something you want to say but have a fear of comment sections? News & Notes
R.A. Dickey received an Honorary Doctorate of “Sacred Letters” from Wycliffe College, the University of Toronto’s Anglican theological school yesterday! (via Toronto Star)
When it rains it pours eh?
This isn’t really news, but isn’t it weird that the Blue Jays have 2 off days over a 4 day period? With the shambles the rotation is I’m sure they don’t mind one bit…but still.

Question of the Day
Game Updates
I’m taking in the game from the cozy confines of the 100-level outfield at the Dome this evening, I’ll try and update between innings, but if I miss one you’ll just have to deal with it okay? Awesome.

Dickey gets em in order and quite easily

Cecil into the game and looks good retiring the side
Bottom 7
17 (!) hits so far for the Blue Jays, this is fun

Boni takes awful routes in the outfield but who cares! Jays lead 10-3.
Bottom 8
Lawrie doubles, nothing else for the Jays…off to the 9th and I’m not leaving yet (I saw the Leafs game last night…anything can happen)

Brad Lincoln is awful, but the Jays pull through anyways. Great win for the good guys.
