Toronto Blue Jays scores and analysis for minor league games played on Wednesday, August 17th

Buffalo Bisons (63-62)   –   4
Rochester Red Wings (68-57)   –   3

The middle of Buffalo’s order led the way as the Bisons racked up 11 hits, all singles. Jesus Montero, Chris Colabello, Domonic Brown, and Casey Kitchman (RBI) all went 2-for-4. Dalton Pompey was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Mike Bolsinger got his first triple-A win with the club, throwing six innings and allowing three runs on seven hits. Bolsinger gave up two home runs and struck out five. Matt Dermody (1.0 IP, BB) and Danny Barnes (S, 2.0 IP, 4 K) handled the back end cleanly.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (59-64)   –   1
Binghamton Mets (57-65)   –   9

Another night of exclusively singles in New Hampshire, as the Fisher Cats managed just one run from 10 hits. Ian Parmley had three of those and scored a run while Ryan Lavarnway was 2-for-5. Dwight Smith Jr. went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks while Rowdy Tellez had one hit in five at-bats.

Conner Greene‘s recent inconsistencies continued as he followed up six no-hit innings in his last outing by allowing seven runs (six earned) over four and two thirds. The right-hander walked six batters and struck out just two. Colton Turner (2.1 IP, 3 H, ER, K) and Wil Browning (2.0 IP, H, 4 K) patched up the back end.

Dunedin Blue Jays (68-53)
SUSPENDED

Play against the Daytona Tortugas was suspended after two innings with the D-Jays down 2-0. The game will resume on Thursday at 5:00 and be completed as part of a double-header.

Lansing Lugnuts (62-60)   –   2
Great Lakes Loons (53-68)   –   3

Lansing had just four hits in this game, so they did well to force 11 innings. A home run from Justin Atkinson and a Ryan Hissey sacrifice fly were the only damage. Josh DeGraaf got it started, allowing one earned run over five and a third before Kirby Snead (2.0 IP, 2 H, 2 K), Jackson Lowery (1.2 IP, 2 K), and Andrew Case (L, 2.0 IP, 4 H, ER, 2 K) combined for the relief effort.

Next: Loup still an option for Blue Jays in stretch run

Vancouver Canadians (23-35)   –   2
Spokane Indians (28-30)   –   4

There wasn’t much sense to be found in the box scores of Blue Jays’ affiliates on Wednesday. Vancouver managed to produce 14 hits, but 13 of those were singles and only two runs were created. One of which came on a J.B. Woodman home run, his third of the season. Joshua Palacios, Cavan Biggio, and Rodrigo Orozco all collected two hits. The same goes for Andres Sotillo, Christian Williams, and Bryan Lizardo.

Nate Abel gave the Canadians four innings of one-run ball out of the gate, allowing just three hits and striking out four. Evan Smith was hit with the loss, giving up two runs on four hits in his inning and a third. Jackson McClelland (1.2 IP, 3 K), Zach Jackson (1.0 IP, 2 H, ER, 3 K), and Gabe Noyalis (1.0 IP, 2 K) followed out of the ‘pen.
