Scores and analysis from Toronto Blue Jays minor league games played on Monday, June 6th

Buffalo Bisons (31-26)   –   2
Rochester Red Wings (33-25)   –   6

Drew Hutchison was on the mound for the triple-A Bisons and offered up a mixed bag. He needed 98 pitches to get through five innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits. Hutchison did strike out seven batters, though.

Chad Jenkins worked one inning of relief, allowing a run on one hit and two walks to move his ERA to 4.39. Bo Schultz followed suit by allowing a run on two hits and a walk before Ryan Tepera worked a clean eighth inning.

Casey Kotchman was the star offensively as his two solo home runs accounted for the entire Bisons’ output. Outside of Kotchman, Dalton Pompey represented the only other base hit. He also stole his seventh bag of the season.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (26-30)   –   1
Reading Fightin Phils (39-19)   –   2

It was a true mound battle as four Reading pitchers combined to hold the Fisher Cats to a single run on five hits. On New Hampshire’s side, Jeremy Gabryszwski was very strong, allowing two runs (one earned) over six innings of work. Murphy Smith, as he’s making a habit of doing, pitched some great relief to hold the Fightin Phils scoreless over the final two frames.

Matt Dean’s fourth home run of the season represented the entire Fisher Cats offence. Jason Leblebijian singled twice while Dwight Smith Jr. and Ryan Lavarnway collected hits. Rowdy Tellez was 0-for-4 with a rare pair of strikeouts.

Dunedin Blue Jays (26-31)
Palm Beach Cardinals (27-30)   –   Cancelled

Poor weather kept the birds off the field, and instead of postponing to a later date, the game was cancelled and will not be made up. The D-Jays are off today and open a series at home against the St. Lucie Mets tomorrow.
