Triple A – Buffalo Bisons

The Bisons have been up and down in the past week which is reflected in there 5-5 record through their last 10 games.  This week there have been many hitting streaks going on for the Herd.  Jesus Montero continues to be a force at the plate and is currently on an 8-game hitting streak.  In that time he has hit 11-34 with 5 RBIs.  Domonic Brown has shown that he has plenty of talent left this week, too.  He is 7 for his last 26 in his past seven games and he collected a multi-homer game on 4/20 where he went 3-for-5 with 4 RBIs.  He also turned in a three-RBI performance yesterday against the Rochester Red Wings.

Drew Hutchison pitched his way up a level as he continued to impress, though he did find a lot of bats in his most recent triple-A outing.  Wade LeBlanc has been the biggest surprise in the Bisons pitching staff thus far, though.  LeBlanc pitched in two games this past week and allowed only three earned runs in 13.1 innings of work.  He also only walked two batters and struck out 14 during those innings.  LeBlanc is missing bats and has been rather impressive thus far.  His season ERA is near rock-bottom at 1.96 through his first three starts.

The red hot Matt Dominguez has also been on a 7 game hitting streak and is 14-28 during that span.  He has also homered twice and raked in 10 RBI and scoring 5 times.  Dominguez has been the stand out this week as he continues to crush the pitching in the International League.   Dominguez has been turning heads and was thought to be a possible call up for the Jays.

Double A – New Hampshire Fisher Cats

The Fisher Cats are still looking to find their stride here in the early going to the season.  They are now 3-7 in their last 10 games and have had trouble scoring runs.  The pitching has been the standout thus far for the Cats.

Jeremy Gabryszwski continued to be a force as he had another great start.  He threw 6.1 innings and only allowed two earned runs.  He allowed six hits and walked two batters while striking out five.  Shane Dawson had a mixed pair of starts: one was a battle and in the other he dominated.  Dawson’s starts combined for an allowed four earned runs over 10 innings of work.  He also walked seven and struck out seven in those innings.

Single A+ – Dunedin Blue Jays

The Dunedin Blue Jays have been hitting on all cylinders in the past week.  They are now 7-3 in their last 10 and have been doing everything right.  On offence the D-Jays have been hitting the ball hard.  Richard Urena has been collecting bases in the past week.  He was 6-for-18 and hit a home run in yesterday’s ball game.  Jonathan Davis has reached base in all but one game in the past week.  He has also hit two homers and collected seven RBIs.  Conner Green was able to pitch two games in the past week and got the win yesterday.  He allowed three earned runs through 10 innings of work while striking out seven this week.

Single A – Lansing Lugnuts

Lansing spent most of the week playing the first place Captains but were able to compete in each of those games.  They currently sit 1.5 games behind them and put up an even 5-5 record over their past 10 games.  The team effort has been the big story here as every player has contributed in general with not true standouts.

Gunnar Heidt has cooled off since the first piping hot week.  Pitching has been dominated by Sean Reid-Foley.  He made two starts this past week and looked like the top prospect he is.  He collected a win and a loss in the two starts and pitched 9.2 innings.  He only allowed three earned runs in the two starts and struck out 11 while walking six.  Control will be the key for continued success for Reid-Foley.
