Buffalo Bisons (34-36)

Game 1

The Bisons finished Wednesday’s game which was postponed due to severe thunderstorms, with Kyle Drabek picking up where Esmil Rogers left off. The Bisons hit 2 home runs and got 6 solid innings of shutout ball from Drabek and Booby Korecky in a 5-3 win.

Darin Mastroianni and Brad Glenn had 3-hits  in the game. Mastroianni and Jared Goedert went deep. Adron Chambers and Kevin Pillar had 2-hit days. In all the Bisons collected 13 hits and were 2-11 with RISP. Goedert supplied the Bisons with a big 3-run HR in the sixth to put them up out in front for good.

Game 2

The Bisons won 7-4 in the second game of the double header. Brad Glenn continued his hot day by adding 2 more hits to the three he collected in Game 1. Brad hit his 3rd HR and collected RBI 15 and 16. Glenn was struggling a little since returning to the line up two weeks ago, but a day like today could be the start of another hot streak. Andy LaRoche went 3-3 with a HR and 2-RBI.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (30-41)

The Fisher Cats won this extra innings affair 7-6. Down 6-3 entering the ninth inning, the Fisher Cats plated 3 to send the game into extra frames. Andy Burns smacked a single in the bottom of the 11th to score Kevin Nolan for win.

Kenny Wilson had a nice game, going 4-6 and collected his 15th stolen base. Jon Berti has been swinging a hot bat over the past week and he continued to do so with a 2-4 night. Berti is hitting .333 over the past 10 games. Another Fisher Cats that has quietly been hitting the ball well is Andy Burns. Burns has been struggling to find consistency at the plate all season long, is currently riding a 10-game hit streak. Burns is hitting .313/.429/.625 over the last 7 day and .259/.326/.435 over the last 28 days.

D-Jays continue to roll with a 5-4 win. They needed a big 4-run inning in the 7th to overcome a 3-0 deficit. The Clearwater Threshers tied the game in the top of 8th, before Marcus Knecht hit a run scoring walkoff single.

Lansing Lugnuts (32-38)

Matt Dermody(3-4) got roughed up for 7 runs (5 ER) as the Lugnuts lost 10-4. It the Lugnuts 4th loss in 5 games.

The Lugnuts offence left 8 runner on base and were 4-12 with RISP. They had five players with multi-hit games, which included Dawel Lugo. Lugo went 3/4 and is now hitting .286 in June. Chaz Frank had a 2-hit game and has been tearing the cover off the ball over his last 10-games (.378/.452/.667). During this stretch, Frank has 5 SB, 5 multi-hit games, and 5/5 (BB/K). Another Lugnut who has been racking is Dickie Joe Thon. Thon has been hitting .329/.381/.411 over his past 20 games. Keep up the good work.
