A bunch of news and notes about the Toronto Blue Jays to fulfill your baseball craving this Monday.

Travis D’Arnaud Gets The Call: Are The Blue Jays Losing The Trades?

In case you missed it in midst of all the Munenori Kawasaki baby madness, in a real baseball story Travis d’Arnaud was called up by the New York Mets this weekend. Jay Blue, author the Minor League Report for us at Jays Journal, asked the question that more or more fans in Toronto can’t help but wonder – are the Blue Jays losing all the trades?

Prospect of the Day: Travis d’Arnaud, C, New York Mets

To throw more salt on the wounds, SB Nation’s Minor League Ball also features d’Arnaud as their August 19th Prospect of the Day.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly and the uh, Miscellaneous: A look at performances from Blue Jays top prospects this week

ClintB over at Bluebird Banter (aka @StivBators) gives us a look around the Blue Jays minor league system over the week that was. Some good (Aaron Sanchez, Ricky Romero (!), Marcus Stroman) some bad (Deck McGuire (?), Drew Hutchison) and not much ugly, which is probably a good thing.

Blue Jays’ Jose Reyes out with sore knee

With Kawasaki playing papa the Blue Jays resorted to Maicer Izturis at shortstop this weekend in Tampa. There hasn’t been a whole lot of coverage around Jose Reyes this year. In 56 games Reyes is batting .291/.348/.444 and carries a 1.3 fWAR, which if he could stay healthy for 162 games works out to almost a 4 WAR season by FanGraphs definition. Hopefully he’ll be back in the lineup on Tuesday.
