Site5 and Fansided Holiday Season Charity Drive

As everyone knows, the holiday season is an especially busy time that provides people an opportunity to reconnect with loves ones, show their love in numerous ways, and to reflect on the important things in life. Well, the Fansided staff and Site5 have thought of the latter item most lately and have decided to team up this holiday season and to kick off their first ever charity effort. The fact that Site5 has stepped up to the plate as a co-sponsor with Fansided in this effort is very commendable and an indication of their efforts to have a positive impact in many communities across America. For those who are unaware, Site5 in the Fansided Network’s hosting company, doing some of the most professional work out there. Fansided and Jays Journal would not be as successful as we are without Site5 and we appreciate our partnership with them.

On to the cause!

The cause of the effort this holiday season is the Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA). Everyone knows that each child deserves a chance to become great, and the BGCA’s mission statement points exactly to this effect:

"“To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.”"

About the BGCA:

They provide various programs and opportunities to kids across America that otherwise may not be available to them. They cover various areas such as Education and Career Programs, Character and Leadership programs, Health and Life Skills, Arts Programs, Sports, Fitness and Recreation programs, and also offer Specialized programs. For more information on each program, follow this link.

We all realize that not everyone has the means to give and that others can only give a little. We simply encourage that those who can afford to give do so with generosity, knowing full well that the money will be going to a great cause that has a positive impact for all of these kids throughout their adult lives, not simply during their childhoods.
Here is the official page for the Drive, which is where you must go to donate.

Our goal this Holiday season is $5,000. We’d love to be able to exceed that by a great deal, but we do realize that the economy isn’t what it once was and that budgets are sometimes tight, so out expectations reflect this conservative view.

I’d like to finish this post off by letting you all read the Core Beliefs of the BGCA:

"A Boys & Girls Club Provides: A safe place to learn and grow…Ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals…Life-enhancing programs and character development experiences…Hope and opportunity."

It’s hard to say no to such a pure cause. Everyone does in fact deserve hope and opportunity, and I truly believe that with such elements in life, anything is possible.

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays everyone! May the spirit of giving warm your hearts as it has mine and please help us make this charity drive a very successful one!
