Lansing Loses Heartbreaker in 12

The Lansing Lugnuts lost 4-3 to Dayton yesterday after a strong 12 inning effort by the entire squad. Every starter got at least a hit, Matt Fields went 4.2 innings with only 1 ER allowed, and Gracey, Slover, and Loup followed him up with 6.1 scoreless innings, 6 Ks, and only 3 hits allowed between them. Very nice. But, Steven Turnbull came on in the 12th and allowed the 1 run that sealed the deal for Lansing.

The story of the day, however, was the errors committed by Lansing. Soboloweski had 2, Fields had 2, Schimpf had 1, Turkamani had 1, Dominguez had 1…..talk about making things hard on yourself and your pitching. Had Lansing not committed so many errors, it is very likely they would have won the game.

Ont he flip side, Fuenmayor, Goins, Glenn, and Wilson each had 2 hits a piece and the Lugnuts did manage 13 hits overall, they just had a hard time coming up with the clutch hits to drive runs in.

Still an encouraging game for the Lugnut pitching and for the fact that most of the hitters are getting their hits.
