Diamondbacks vs. Blue Jays prediction and odds for Friday, July 14 (Value on the total)
Jose Berrios is off one of his best starts of the season, can he follow it up against a vaunted Diamondbacks lineup.
By Reed Wallach

Two playoff hopefuls start the second half of the season against one another with the Diamondbacks in Toronto to face the Blue Jays.
Jose Berrios toes the rubber off one of his best starts of the season, seven innings of one hit ball against the White Sox. However, this is a far better lineup in the Diamondbacks, can Berrios follow it up?
Here are the odds for Friday's matchup:

Diamondbacks vs. Blue Jays prediction and pick
Berrios has had a resurgence this season, lowering his ERA from 5.23 to 3.50 this season. He has also been far better at home, pitching to a 2.84 ERA through seven starts. The key has been him lowering his home run rate, allowing nearly half a home run less per nine innings this year as opposed to last.
He should be able to control this D-Backs lineup that is out of form over the last month. Arizona is 19th in OPS over the last 30 days, per MLB.com, and with Berrios entering in prime form, I expect another quality start.
Meanwhile, the Blue Jays offense has had struggles over the last month, 23rd in OPS over the last 30 days. Toronto has far more talent than production, and I'll count on Arizona starter Ryne Nelson to put up a strong outing on the mound. Nelson had a brutal start before the All-Star break, allowing seven earned runs across three innings, but the two prior he allowed one earned run in each start.
I'm going to count on both starters to outduel each struggling offense and lead to a competitive, low scoring affair.
