The Blue Jays and Royals finish a four game series on Thursday afternoon with Toronto turning to one of the most reliable arms in baseball, Kevin Gausman.

Toronto's pitching has been excellent through the back half of this series, winning a combined 7-1 across the last two games, can Gausman keep the rotation's form together and finish this series on a high note as the team continues on the road?

Let's first check out the odds:

Blue Jays vs. Royals prediction and pick

Gausman allowed eight hits against the Cardinals last week, but didn't get much help in the field as he allowed three unearned runs. Overall, though, he is one of the best arms in the American League after pitching to a 3.10 ERA over his last four seasons. He is reliable, generates a ton of swings and misses and limits walks at an elite level.

Now he faces a Royals offense that is still raw, shut out three times in six games this season. The team has struggled to keep up with the bats of the Blue Jays and the gap between the two teams is reflected in the moneyline.

Instead, I'll take the under in this game as Lyles has been trending up over the last few years, posting improved control in 2022 with the Baltimore Orioles, walking the fewest batters per nine innings dating back to his rookie season.

Overall, on a getaway day, I think we see this game follow a similar script to the prior two, a low scoring Blue Jays victory.
