MLB Opening Day is just a few days away!

The Toronto Blue Jays will get their season started off with a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals. Before that happens, be sure to lock in some futures bets for the season.

There's one involving the Jays' start shortstop, Bo Bichette, that may just be my favorite bet for the entire 2023 MLB campaign.

Let's dive into it.

Bo Bichette 2023 Hits Total

DraftKings Sportsbook has Bichette's hit total set at 170.5 for the upcoming season, which is borderline insulting based on how he's performed the past two years.

Bichette racked up 191 hits in 2021 and then totaled 189 hits in 2022, both were the best mark in the American League the past two seasons. Yet, for some reason, his total for this year is set at 20 hits fewer.

It's not like we should expect regression from Bichette. At just 25 years old, he's still progressing toward his prime and should be geared toward another step forward this season.

In spring training, he has totaled 16 hits in 54 plate appearances with a batting average of .314. Obviously, it's tough to predict how someone will perform in the regular season based on exhibition games, but it's a good sign that he hasn't regressed in the offseason.

The only concern that comes with bets like this is injuries. Bichette has been able to stay healthy the past two seasons, playing in 159 games each year. If he runs into even a minor injury issue that causes him to miss any time, this bet could have a risk of losing.

But, his health history is promising and a good sign that he'll be able to compete throughout the season.

Give me Bichette to go OVER 170.5 hits this season.
