New York Yankees- Bombing in the Bronx

15-8

The Yankees kicked things into a new gear this week. Facing two of the strongest teams in Baseball, New York proved they were here to stay. The Yankees rotation dominated an uncommonly cool Red Sox offense. On top of that, they were able to score against the heart of the Red Sox rotation. New York took this momentum into a weekend series against the Orioles and did not disappoint. The Yankees fought past a 9-1 deficit to win Friday’s game in extras. They followed through by decimating Ubaldo Jimenez and a taxed relief corps.

The Yankees got an excellent week from every aspect of the team. The strongest performance was obviously the offense, but the rotation deserves plenty of praise. The rotation managed to hang tough against two of the strongest offenses in the game. Their capable bullpen did more than their share of work this week as well. The Yankees also saw the return of Didi Gregorius to bolster an already strong defense.

Final Takeaway:

The Yankees get to carry their momentum against the weak Blue Jays at home. With the Orioles and Red Sox squaring off, the Yankees have a chance to run away with the division.
