Dunedin Blue Jays vs Brevard County Manatees (Win 7-6)

A rough start for Jeremy Gabryszwski got the D-Jay’s off to a bad start but this game became a battle right from the start.  Gabryszwski gave up 5 runs over the first 5 innings.  4 of those runs being earned runs as he struck out 5 batters also and only walked 1 batter.  The offense kept the D-Jay’s in this game through out but we will get to that.  Matt Dermody would come on in relief and hold off the Manatees for 2 innings and kept the game in a dead lock.  Chris Smith allowed a solo home run to Jose Pena which was his second one of the game to give the Manatees the lead in the 8th.  Smith would pitch the 9th also and eventually pick up the win.

The Slugfest was officially on and the D-Jay’s followed suit.  The collected 3 home runs in the early part of the game.  J.D. Davis cracked a 2 run homer in the first inning to get the D-Jay’s in the swing of things.  Eventually Derrick Loveless and Andy Fermin popped solo home run each in the 4th inning.  Anthony Alford also collected 4 hits in 5 at bats and was only a home run short of the cycle.  He also collected 2 RBI’s which included the walk off double to score Jorge Saez in the 9th.

Line of the game

Anthony Alford 4-5 with a double, a triple, a run scored, and 2 RBIs
