Buffalo Bisons vs. Durham Bulls (0-7 Loss)

As the Bisons bats fell silent Tuesday night the bullpen got lit up.  After a decent start by Andrew Albers the bullpen completely imploded and allowed 6 runs.  Albers went 5 innings and only allowed one run while striking out 5.  His solid start was left in the dust as the offense could not get anything going against a dominate pitching performance by the Bulls.  Andrew Bellatti only allowed 2 hits through 5 innings of work.  After that the Bulls just kept on rolling over Bison hitters.

Offensively the Bison attack was non-existent.  They only managed 4 hits for the night.  Meanwhile the Bull attack scored 7 runs on 13 hits.  The attack was lead by former Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia who went 4-5 with 2 home runs and 3 RBI.  Corey Brown also destroyed Bisons pitching by going 3-4 and was only  a homer shy of the cycle.  He collected 2 RBIs also.

Bison Standouts

New Hampshire Fisher Cats @ Reading Fightin Phils (9-11 Loss)

The Cats came close to a come back last night.  In the last 3 innings they scored 5 runs but still came up short.  The tying run was left on base in the 9th.  Offense was not hard to come by in this game.  The Cats had 19 hits and the Phils had 15.  The Cats issue last night was hitting with runners in scoring position.  the only managed to go 5-17 with RISP were the Phils went 6-12.  Leaving 17 runners on base in a game will definitely not help your offense any night either.

Pitching wise Austin Bidens-Dirkx got hit hard.  He allowed 9 hits and 7 earned runs over 3 innings of work.  Relieving him proved to be just as difficult for Arik Sikula as he gave up 4 more runs n 1 inning of work.  In the 5th the bullpen finally produced and kept the Phils off the board for the remainder of the game.  The work of Luis Perez and Cory Burns paved the way for the possible comeback.

Fisher Cats Standouts

Luis Perez – 3 IP, 0 ER, 3K’s, 1 BB, 1 hit

Jorge Flores – 4-5, 1 Run, 1 RBI, 2B

Pierce Rankin – 3-4, 3 Run, 1 RBI

Dunedin Blue Jays @ Tampa Yankees (9-3 Loss)

The D-Jays had some issues pitching last night that led to the Yankees having a win.  Murphy Smith allowed 5 runs and Brady Dragmire allowed another 3.  Mean while the Yankees pitching combined for 5 shut out innings.  Conner Kendrick allowed all 3 runs and 7 of the 8 hits  to the Jays in the final 4 innings.  Note much to write home about in this game so I am just going to chalk this one up to lets try harder tomorrow night.
