New Hampshire Fisher Cats (12-9, 4th)

The Fisher Cats got a good pitching performance from John Anderson (7.0IP. H, R, 3BB, 5K) and some timely hitting to win 4-1. The win gave the Fisher Cats their first sweep of 2015 and they are now 7-3 in the last 10 games. Austin Bibens-Dirkx got the win and Blake McFarland picked up his 2nd save.

3B Ryan Schimpf hit his 4th home run, a solo shot in the 2nd inning off Yankees top pitching prospect Luis Severino. RF Matt Newman and C Jack Murphy collected 3-hits a piece. Newman’s eight inning double off RP Andury Acevedo scoring Jorge Flores and K.C. Hobson sealed the game for NH.

Lansing Lugnuts (13-7, 1st)

Despite losing 2-1 to Lake County, the Lugnuts still hold a 2 game lead in the division. 3B Justin Atkinson hit 2 singles and drove in the club’s only run in the 7 inning. RHP Sean Reid-Foley pitched 3 innings of one-hit baseball. He walked 4 and struck out 3, as command continues to be an issue. Andrew Case (L, 2-1 6.23ERA) gave up 2 runs on 2 solo home runs and 3 hits. Justin Shafer (2-0, 0.92ERA) pitched the final 4 frames. Shafer walked 3, struck out 2 and didn’t allow a hit.
