Toronto Blue Jays scores and analysis for minor league games played on Tuesday, July 20th

Buffalo Bisons (52-45)   –   3

Wilmer Font earned his first win with the Blue Jays organization, allowing just one run on four hits over five and two-thirds innings and striking out five. After a quick out from Chad Girodo, Franklin Morales allowed one earned run on two hits in his final rehab outing. Ryan Tepera picked up his 14th save of the season, striking out three over two innings.

Buffalo managed just five hits, two of which came from Dalton Pompey. The centre-fielder drove in a run and scored one himself. Chris Colabello went 0-for-2, walking once and driving in a run with a sacrifice fly.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (43-52)   –   7
Reading Fightin Phils (66-30)   –   5

The top five of New Hampshire’s lineup was very productive, starting with Christian Lopes who went 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs. Jason Leblebijian and Ryan Lavarnway both doubled and drove in a pair of runs. Roemon Fields stole two bases, giving him 30 on the season.

Taylor Cole pitched six innings, allowing five runs on seven hits while striking out seven. Tim Mayza followed up with two strong innings of scoreless ball before Chris Smith earned his fifth save.

Only seven combined hits in this game as the pitchers stole the show. Josh Almonte had the only RBI and Dickie Joe Thon‘s triple represented the only extra-base hit. Anthony Alford went 1-for-2, walking twice and stealing his 12th base of the season.

Sean Reid-Foley moved to 5-0 with a brilliant start, striking out 10 over six shutout innings while allowing just one hit. Adonys Cardona worked around two walks for a scoreless seventh inning before Dusty Isaacs pitched two innings, striking out two and lowering his ERA to 1.00 in eight outings after a successful stint with Lansing.

OFF DAY  –  Lefty Angel Perdomo (3-3, 2.51 ERA) is scheduled to start against the Clifton LumberKings tonight at 7:05 p.m. ET.

Luis Sanchez had a bizarre outing, throwing four shutout innings despite walking six batters. Griffin Glaude provided some strong relief innings, striking out three and allowing just one hit over three frames. Evan Smith and Jackson McClelland (S, 1) closed it out with an inning each.

Panamanian left-fielder Rodrigo Orozco led the way offensively, going 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and his fourth stolen base of the season.

All of Bluefield’s came from Kalik May and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who both went 2-for-4 (Guerrero doubled). Juliandry Higuera struck out six batters in six innings, allowing just one run on four hits. Connor Eller allowed two runs, both unearned, in his two innings of relief.
