Buffalo Bisons (48-29)   –   0
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (54-33)   –   10

Dietrich Enns pitched seven innings of shutout ball for the RailRiders allowing just two hits, and the Bisons were never close. Andy Burns and Domonic Brown picked up the lone singles for Buffalo.

John Anderson got rocked on the mound, allowing seven runs over just two and a third innings on nine hits. Bobby Korecky followed with some heavy relief (3.2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER) before Chad Girodo (1.0 IP) and Dustin Antolin (1.0 IP, 3 H, 1 ER).

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (39-47)   –   6
Portland Sea Dogs (30-55)   –   1

Right-hander Taylor Cole had his strongest outing of the season, striking out eight over eight innings of one-run ball without issuing a single walk. Wil Browning closed it out with a clean frame in the ninth.

Derrick Loveless, Emilio Guerrero, and Jorge Flores led the way with multi-hit games for New Hampshire and Flores picked up two RBI.

Dunedin Blue Jays (43-40)   –   6

Brevard County manatees (26-55)   –   4

More from Jays Journal

Dunedin’s two to five hitters combined to go 8-for-19 with three RBI. Richard Urena doubled, his 15th of the season, moving his average to .279. Dickie Joe Thon singled twice out of the seven hole and stole his 14th base of the season while Jonathan Davis stole his 23rd.

Conor Fisk got the start, throwing six innings with two earned runs allowed and seven strikeouts. Dusty Isaacs (0.2 IP), Alonzo Gonzalez (1.1 IP), Carlos Ramirez (0.1 IP, 1 ER), and Colton Turner (0.2 IP, S) followed in relief.

Lansing Lugnuts (45-39)   –   3
Dayton Dragons (25-58)   –   4

Another tidy start from top pitching prospect Jon Harris, who allowed two earned runs through seven innings with eight strikeouts. Josh DeGraaf pitched the final two frames, taking the loss (4-5) when a run crossed in the top of the ninth.

John La Prise and Juan Tejada both doubled and went 2-for-4. Third-baseman Carl Wise also went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles. Lansing’s downfall on Wednesday was strikeouts, however, as they racked up 12.

Vancouver Canadians (10-10)   –   4
Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (9-11)   –   16

This one didn’t go as planned for the Canadians. Patrick Murphy allowed three runs (all unearned) over three innings in the start and was followed by Matthew Smoral (0.0 IP, 4 ER), Griffin Glaude (2.0 IP, 2 ER), Grayson Huffman (0.2 IP, 7 ER), and Jackson McClelland (2.1 IP).

Vancouver managed just six hits. Lance Jones was half the offence, going 3-for-4 with a run scored. J.B. Woodman walked and drove in one.

Danville Braves (6-8)   –   2

Vlad Guerrero Jr. keeps rolling, picking up another two hits on Wednesday including his first double of the season. Edward Olivares went 2-for-4 with a run scored and Nick Sinay drove in a pair out of the leadoff spot. Sinay also stole his 7th base.

Denis Diaz, the right-hander from Honduras, pitched five innings of one-run ball. Connor Eller was strong in relief, too, handling the final four innings and allowing just one run while striking out five.
