The Bisons were rained out, Matt Newman power the Fisher Cats past Akron, Dwight Smith Jr. supplies the D-Jays offence in a 2-1 loss, and Edwin Encarnacion goes 1 for 3 in a rehab start.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (58-62)

NH beats Akron, 5-2. Recently signed Michael Lee, a minor league veteran, provided the Fisher Cats with a solid start.

Mike McDade hit his 7th Double-A home run of the year and Yusuf Carter and Matt Newman chipped in with RBI’s of their own. Matt Newman had a 3-hit game which saw him hit his 4th triple and drive in his 31st RBI.

Edwin Encarnacion went 1/3 in his rehab start…he DH’ed. Dwight Smith Jr. collects 2 hits, one being his 9th home run.

Brad Allen continues to just bad enough not to win. The bullpen was flawless as Matt Dermody and Scott Silverstein combined to pitch 4.0 innings of no-hit ball.
