Toronto Blue Jays Minor League Recap: Max Pentecost continues to roll

The Blue Jays farm system was 3-3 on the night. Kevin Pillar, Dalton Pompey, Dwight Smith Jr., Dickie Joe Thon, and Ryan McBroom had good games at the plate.

Buffalo Bisons (48-52)

The Bisons loss 3-2 and are swept in this 4-game series with Pawtucket. The Bisons have now lost 7 in a row and 6-12 in July.

Kevin Pillar was the offence. Pillar accounted for 3 of the Bisons 4 hits. Pillar had a double and a home run. P.J. Walters pitched a good game going 6IP, 4H, 3R and 6K. Aaron Sanchez provided the Bisons with a shut out inning of relief. Sanchez only needed 12 pitches to get through the 7th.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (47-53)

The Fisher Cats win 3-2. NH fought to the end and scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th to steal the win from Portland. With two out in the 9th PH Andy Fermin walked, PH Matt Newman walked, Dalton Pompey scores Fermin with a single and later steals 2nd, and Jon Berti drives in the winning run with a line drive to left field.

Casey Lawrence pitched well enough to win going 8.oIP and allowed 2 runs on 10 hits. Lawrence bounded the strike zone all game long. He struck out 7 and didn’t issue any walks. He also did a good job of keeping the ball on the ground with 9-4 GO/AO ratio.
