Buffalo Bisons (48-50)

The Bisons lost 4-3. They were up 3-1 through 4 innings, but couldn’t close things out, as the Red Sox scored one in the 5th, 6th and 7th innings to take the game.

Brett Wallace was hitless in his return to the Jays organization. Ryan Schimpf may be struggling in Triple-A but he was able to knock out his 4th with the Bisons. Ryan Goins continues to hit well in July (.333/.400/.407) and has been more patient at the plate with 6/8 BB/K ratio.

The Fisher Cats won 7-4. The Fisher Cats got a big first inning and never looked back as they  got a single from Jon Berti, a double from Kevin Nolan, a single from Andy Burns, and a home run for K.C. Hobson to put the Fisher Cats up 4-0. They tacked on a few more insurance runs in the 2nd (Dalton Pompey 2nd HR), 3rd (Andy Burns 10th HR), and 4th innings.

Matt Boyd got his first Double-A win as he continues to have one good start followed by one bad start. Boyd needs to find consistency in the final  two months of the year or he may find himself on the outside looking in, with respect to the 2015 Bisons rotation.

Noteworthy: Nolan extended his hit streak to 7 games. K.C. Hobson has hit 3 HR in the past 9 games after hitting 1 in his first  11 games at Double-A

The Lugnuts were humiliated 10-0. The Lugnuts got hits from Matt Dean, Dawel Lugo, D.J. Davis and Justin Atkinson…that is it. They only managed to draw one walk. Dawel Lugo started the year off slow with a .224/.259/.289 April, but since has been hitting .304/.328/.392 with 3HR and 39 RBI over the past 3 months….time for the move to Dunedin to see what he can do there. Justin Atkinson is quietly having a good season for the Lugnuts and is hitting .364/.400/.394 over his past 10 games…..too bad he had to deal with some injuries.
