Buffalo Bisons (21-15)

Darin Mastroianni went deep and Ryan Goins had two hits to raise his International League batting average to .327 as Buffalo was downed 3-2 to Gwinnett. Sean Nolin pitched well until he fell apart in the sixth and was tagged for three earned with one of them coming courtesy of a John Stilson bases loaded walk. Stilson came back to get the next two batters to keep the gap at one but that run was all the Braves needed to ice the win.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (15-22)

Aaron Sanchez‘s control problems continued as he issued four walks but otherwise it wasn’t a bad start for the young right-hander. 51 of his 87 pitches were for strikes and per usual he kept the ball on the ground. Gabe Jacobo hit a home run while K.C. Hobson walked three times and knocked home the Fisher Cats’ only other run in what turned into a bit of a pitcher’s duel (with lots of walks). Both teams had more walks than base hits.

Ryan Schimpf – 0/0, RBI, 3 BB, SB

Dunedin Blue Jays (27-10)

Another low scoring game happened in Palm Beach as the D-Jays were shutout by the Cardinals 1-0. Dalton Pompey made a great throw on an attempted sac fly to save a run in the third. Derrick Chung led the offense with a perfect day at the plate (2 hits, 2 walks) while K.C. Hobson and Gustavo Pierre added doubles. Taylor Cole had a very good start and went seven strong allowing just one earned run with five K’s.

Both Davis and Lugo had three hit games while catcher Santiago Nessy had three hits as well including two doubles. L.B. Dantzler chipped in with a couple of singles while Mitch Nay reached base twice. Matt Dermody led the way with a brilliant start as he scattered four hits across eight innings with six strikeouts.
