Blue Jays Minor League Recap: Big day for Jared Goedert and Anthony Gose

Buffalo Bisons (20-14)

The Bisons won their 2nd game in a row and scored 8 runs for a 2nd game in row. The offence used the long ball and used their speed to secure the victory. Anthony Gose was very impressive with 2 hits, 2 SB, and a home run.

Liam Hendriks improved his record to 5-0 with another good start. Ryan Tepera, Neil Wagner, and Bobby Korecky combined to pitch 3 innings of relief, striking out 5 and allowing 2 hits.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (15-20)

The Fisher Cats found themselves on the wrong side of a slugfest, and lost 13-12 to Portland. The loss was the The Fisher Cats 4th loss in 5 games. The Fisher Cats churned out 19 hits while only getting walked once. A.J. Jimenez had a monster day going 4-5, three doubles, but only driving in one run. Jon Berti continues to ride a hot streak that has seen him have 3 multi-hit games in the past 10 games. During this time Berti has stolen 5 bases, drove in 7 RBI, two 2B, 3B, and HR.

Matt Boyd had another rough start and now has allowed 10 runs over 9IP. Boyd dominated in 5 starts with the Dunedin Blue Jays but has yet to carry that success over to his Fisher Cats career. We can’t be too hard on Boyd for today’s performance because none of the Fisher Cat pitchers pitched to their abilities.
