According to Scott MacArthur of TSN, Jose Reyes and Casey Janssen are both nearing to their return to the Toronto Blue Jays lineup.

MacArthur is reporting that Reyes ran the bases while Janssen threw a bullpen session on Saturday in Baltimore. He shares comments from manager John Gibbons about the plan for their rehab assignments.

"“The plan is they’re probably going to fly to Florida (on Sunday). I know Reyes will probably start playing a game on Monday. Casey … it’s probably Monday or Tuesday.”"

Janssen was eligible to come off the DL today while the first day Reyes is eligible to return is April 16 (h/t Jamie Ross, BlueJays.com).

Again according to MacArthur, Janssen reported no pain after throwing 35 pitches “pretty much as hard as I could”. Reyes said he felt “good” but didn’t add much more than that.

With unpredictable weather in both Triple-A Buffalo and Double-A New Hampshire, both players will be shipped to Dunedin, which is where the Blue Jays host spring training, to begin their respective rehab assignments.

It’s still not known exactly when either Reyes and Janssen will return to the Blue Jays but realistically both could be back later this week.
