Vancouver Evens Up Series at 1: September 8 Minor League Report

Vancouver Canadians (1-1)

September 8 Game:

The Vancouver Canadians staved off elimination in their 3-game series with the Boise Hawks by taking Game 2 4-2. The pitching was very strong, getting five solid innings from starter Kyle Anderson who gave up a run on three hits and three walks with four strikeouts. Matt Dermody threw two and a third innings and gave up the other Boise run on three hits while striking out two. Chuck Ghysels and Scott Silverstein pitched the final inning and two-thirds to close out the victory for the Canadians. Mitch Nay had another strong game for the C’s, joining Andy Fermin and Justin Atkinson with two hits apiece. Fermin drove in a pair with a 2-RBI triple in the seventh inning and Chaz Frank scored a pair of runs (and stole a base) with a single and a walk.
