More injuries woes to report in the Toronto Blue Jays outfield.

With Melky Cabrera (knee) and Colby Rasmus (oblique) already on the shelf the Toronto Blue Jays are now playing without any of their opening day outfield when All-Star right-fielder Jose Bautista left the today’s opening double-header against the New York Yankees.

According to the official Toronto Blue Jays Twitter account Bautista is listed game-to-game (rather than day-to-day since the Blue Jays play twice today).

Bautista struggled with injuries early but has appeared to be relatively healthy for the majority of this season. It’s not surprising to see the Blue Jays be careful with their franchise superstar as Jose Reyes was also held out recently before returning to the lineup today. Reyes led off game one but won’t start for tonight’s encore according to TSN’s Scott MacArthur.

Bautista, 32, is batting .259/.357/.499 with a 133 wRC+ and has contributed a 4.2 fWAR in 117 games.
