As of this writing, the trade appears to be on the verge of becoming consummated. Adam Rubin of ESPN New York is reporting that Dickey has not yet engaged in extension talks with the Blue Jays, a formality that Toronto would have to insist on in any such deal. The package going to the New York Mets would include top prospect Travis d’Arnaud and could possibly include Anthony Gose as well. There has been no indication of any inclusion of other players or prospects coming with Dickey from New York, which one would have to imagine Alex Anthopoulos insisting on an additional return if Gose is also included.
Given the fervent reaction of Blue Jays fans on Twitter last night, lined up on both sides of the fence, we want to hear what your reaction to the rumored trade of R.A. Dickey to the Blue Jays.
