@juanguzman Glad you liked the article!

I have a feeling that the Jays rotation will be a work in progress for the majority of 2012, but that the Jays have so many options from AA through the majors that there won't be much of an issue in finding the right combination of arms.

Personally, I think that the year will bring a few surprises. Whether or not it leads to Cecil heading to the pen in "Litsch fashion", nobody really could say, but I do remember how the Jays treated Jo-Jo Reyes last year due to his lack of options. If Cecil doesn't have any options left, you can guarantee his spot in the rotation or pen until the Jays really give up.

As for his issues, you can read a great article about it here: http://mopupduty.com/what-to-do-with-brett-cecil-1227/

Alan Farina is still recovering from TJ surgery and should be out for the majority of 2012. That is unfortunate since he was really dominant to this point, but the Jays did bring Danny Farquhar and Trystan Magnuson back into the fold from Oakland, giving them some youth to rely on in the upper portions of the minors. Danny Barnes and Aaron Loup are 2 others to keep an eye on, as is any SP who doesn't make the rotation cut.

i love this pen! however, i have 2 questions. assuming these guys are in the rotation : romero, morrow, alvarez, mcgowan, what happens if cecil is overtaken by drabek or one of the other young arms? does he still have options? will there be room in the pen for him? also, what is the latest on alan farina? is he a potential closer or more of a longshot as the closer? thanks and keep up the good articles.

Nice update. I've seen somewhere that the Jays may place Carreno in the minors to start games.

I agree that the pen is much improved. However, it is not a dominant pen a la NYY.

Now if AA can address our pathetically weak bench and questionable rotation after #1 & #2

I feel that AA senses an opportunity to secure at least a wild card spot in 2012 and so we should see a number of additional moves, probably one more in January and one or two more after spring training and mid season to make that playoff push.

Go Jays go!!!
