A Blue Jays fan New Year’s resolution
Regardless of what happens from now until Opening Day, the Jays’ roster should fare better in 2012. Be patient, however.

Poll Results: Prince Fielder, Joel Hanrahan, Carlos Beltran
Results from a few polls that we included in December posts. Two were quite close, while the other gave the most lopsided results in any poll in our site’s history.

Trading for Matt Garza Doesn’t Make Sense for the Blue Jays
Though there have been a lot of recent rumors linking the Jays to popular Cubs starter Matt Garza, trading for him right now doesn’t make any sense.

Blue Jays Close to Signing Darren Oliver?
Chiming in on the news that former Texas Rangers left-handed reliever has agreed to sign a free-agent contract with the Blue Jays. As predicted, it’s apparently a one-year contract with a club option for 2013, which I think will be for $3.75 and $4 million, respectively.

Jays Journal Top 50 Blue Jays Prospects: No. 48 Tyler Ybarra
After one day off, the top prospects list continues with an under-the-radar southpaw who played for Bluefield this past season, No. 48, Tyler Ybarra.

Jays sign LHP Aaron Laffey
Chiming in on the news that the Jays have signed left-handed pitcher Aaron Laffey to a minor-league contract with an invite to spring training.

Jays Journal Top 50 Blue Jays Prospects: No. 47 Shane Opitz
The next prospect on our top 50 list didn’t stand out offensively with the Vancouver Canadians this past season, but he was a 19-year-old playing in the Northwest League so we cut him a bit of slack. No. 47, Shane Opitz.
