This was a great move for the Jays, they gave up two middling prospects for a solid relief pitcher. They are really building up this bullpen, and you can check out my take on the deal on Call to the Pen; it will be up soon.

@JaysJournal For sure. Though we've all had our ups and downs with Frasor in various games, he's a definite upgrade and will be a dependable arm coming out of the pen. For Molina, Jaye, Webb, and a few bucks, AA has successfully overhauled the Jays' bullpen, finally bringing in a closer as well as adding a lefty and a righty, both veterans. Impressive stuff.

I absolutely love this move by AA. Not only is Santos now familiar with somebody in the pen, which helps the cohesiveness issues that can arise when a pitcher switches teams, but with the praise Frasor threw to around about Santos you know they really do get along and respect one another.

Over the last 2 days, AA has added all of the veteran presence the pen needed without overspending. One, Oliver, also has playoff experience, something that was lacking a lot of in the pen. Add in the leadership and familiarity that returns to the pen in Frasor, and you've got one really capable pen. I'm working on a pen piece right now, but I'll let a bit of the cat out of the bag by praising this year's reshaped pen in comparison to last year's pen. The experience and capabilities of each member this year seems to be much more in synch. Time will tell whether or not that results into more wins and fewer blown leads, but my hunch says that the Jays pen will be a very dangerous one to face indeed.
