@JaysJournal I agree completely. The back end of the BlueJays bullpen is actually going to be strong this coming year. Casey Janssen coming in the 7th, Darren Oliver coming in the 8th and Sergio Santos and his filthy assortment of pitches closing out games in the 9th, suddenly we look much stronger. Add in a Luis Perez for 2nd lefty and a spot starter along with Carlos Villaneuva the Jays are pretty set. Great deal for the silent assassin ! AA

@JaysJournal I agree with you that improvements in the pen should lead to 3 - 4 wins taking us to about 84 - 85 wins. You would have to think that any improvements in the lineup with rasmus, full season of lawrie, Kelly Johnson would be balanced by slight regressions with bautista and escobar. I am not hopeful of lind doing much better than last season as he seems to be having issues with LHP's. The big improvements could be getting a No 2 rotation starter. That could add potentially 3 -4 wins getting us close to 88 -89 wins. If that happens it would be a interesting season for the jays fans.

Adding Oliver would be great for the Jays since it frees up Luis Perez to act as long LHP relief and LHP spot starter when required. That and it adds a shut down LHP at the back of the pen to compliment RHPs Janssen and Villanueva very well.

It's a bigger addition than initially meets the eye. His addition and that of Sergio Santos could mean an additional 3-4 wins easy over what the Jays got from the back end last year.
