I don't care if one of our pitchers ever wins a Cy Young or appears in an all-star game. I want 5 horses that can go out there and book their 200 innings a year, and keep their team in the game until the 7th inning. Not flashy, but you win a lot of ball games. When it comes to pitching, I’m not a big fan of putting all your eggs in one basket with an “Ace” or a “stopper”, or a 20 game winner (see Halladay, Roy on DL with broken leg, appendicitis, etc.). I don’t care if one of our pitchers ever wins a Cy Young or appears in an all-star game. I want 5 horses that can go out there and book their 200 innings a year, and keep their team in the game until the 7th inning.

Not flashy, but you win a lot of ball games.
