Honestly, I think AA is one of those under the radar guys. But this goes for the Toronto Blue Jays franchise as a whole. Lets be honest, Toronto is not front page news in the U.S so if there were rumors likely they would be dispensed quickly if considered at all. I too think that AA will be working hard to pull a rabbit out of the hat. Whether it is Ubaldo or some other guy that has not been discussed. Toronto's farm has some serious talent not mentioning the "young ready to go guys," they currently possess on the 40 man. It'll be very interesting to see what happens, hopefully something that'll rock the Rogers Centre.

BTW I had a buddy at the FIshercats game last week. Apparently Toronto can get really excited for "5 tool" Anthony Gose. Not necessarily a secret but thats always fun to hear.

Farina definitely isn't a closing option in 2012 healthy or not if you ask me... Although I love the idea of the Jimenez trade, I haven't heard the Jays mentioned as serious contenders. He certainly fits the high-end buy low philosophy of AA, although a move for Jimenez would mean the Jays want to compete by next season if you ask me, which means they would need to add more. The Drabek/Cecil package plus somebody sounds reasonable but I don't think the Jays are ready to give up on Drabek... Cecil/Stewart/High-end young prospect seems like a more probably package to me, but I don't think this offer will complete with the other big pursuers. I don't think the Jays are willing to give up as much of the farm as it would take to get him. They've put too much work into hand selecting the guys they want, I doubt they're going to move a big package of them.

i totally agree with the jimenez trade possibilty. i thought a package of cecil, drabek and one of their younger pitchers could entice the rockies. any thoughts on that possibilty? i would not move zach stewart because i also believe he could be their closer some day. also what ails alan farina? is he a closer option in 2012?
