@MatthewMueller You are right! I'm either getting old or just a brainfart. Hopefully, the latter. Time for a scotch!

@Mylegacy Its not necessarily a second round pick. It depends on who acquires him in free agency (not the Padres). If we trade for him and Boston picks him up as a FA, it would be a 1st round pick unless Boston had signed a higher rated FA based on the Elias rankings, which then we get a 2nd round pick.

Jared

Man - this guy has been a stud - but - I'm concerned about the drop off in SO's. Also, he's a Type A - meaning we could get a 1st round pick AND a Supplemental 1st as well. BUT - The Pads will CLEARLY be picking in the first 15 - SO - we'd get their 2nd round pick instead of their 1st.

IF - AA's brain trust think they know of an easy fix to get Heath's SO touch back - then maybe. AA could trade 3 or 4 B Prospects for him IF they thought they could fix and resign him. OR - if they can't fix - I'm sure he wouldn't accept arbitration and would get us a supplemental 1st and a 2nd round pick - lots worse things than that.

Seems like an "if" too many for me. BUT - I'm really intrigued.
