Matt Eddy of Baseball America has the latest minor league transactions out, and many of them for the Jays include signings of their 2011 draft picks, as well as 13 Non-Drafted Free Agents (NDFA) – an impressive amount of NDFA signings when you consider that the next highest number of such signings post-draft were a couple of teams that signed 6 a piece.

Here’s a list of both signing types:

Drafted Players Signed – 16 More as follows:

  • Rd#18 Pick 2B Jon Berti
  • Rd#24 Pick LHP David Rollins
  • Rd#25 Pick OF Eric Arce
  • Rd#28 Pick SS Jorge Vega-Rosado
  • Rd#29 Pick RHP Taylor Cole
  • Rd#30 Pick 1B Kevin Patterson
  • Rd#32 Pick OF Kevin Pillar
  • Rd#34 Pick C Luis Munoz
  • Rd#36 Pick RHP Andrew Sikula
  • Rd#37 Pick RHP Les Williams
  • Rd#38 Pick OF Nico Taylor
  • Rd#40 Pick OF Nicholas Baligod
  • Rd#41 Pick SS Cody Bartlett
  • Rd#42 Pick LHP Shane Davis
  • Rd#44 Pick RHP Colby Broussard
  • Rd#50 Pick RHP Eric Brown

This, along with P Joe Musgrove, brings the total number of players signed to 16 of 55. You can see what that looks like within our list of all signed and unsigned draft picks here, with JJ profiles set to come out once each draft pick has signed. There’s still a ton of work to do concerning signings, particularly since none of those signed above were deemed to be hard signings to get done.

The List of NDFA Signed is as Follows:

  • RHP Phil Brua – Oberlin Ohio
  • RHP Tucker Jensen – Embry-Riddle Fla
  • RHP Ian Kadish – Marshall
  • RHP Jon Lucas – Wagner
  • RHP Blake McFarland – San Jose State
  • RHP Ajay Meyer – Ashland Ohio
  • RHP Chris Roman – Nova Southeastern Fla
  • RHP Randall Thompson Florida Tech
  • RHP Ben White – Temple
  • C George Carroll – New York Tech
  • C Chris Schaeffer – North Carolina State
  • 3B Kevin Howard – Lancaster Atlantic – *Update, Assigned to AAA Las Vegas
  • SS Chris Peters – Cincinnati

There are a ton of names listed above, but we’ll do our best to bring up the more prominent ones and to let you know where they wind up and how they are doing.
